Calculators that end in a shopping list
Most calculators hand you a decimal and wish you luck at the store. Ours round the answer up into bags, rolls, pallets and yards, the way you actually buy materials.
Every tool shows its formula on the page, names where its constants come from, and works one full example with real numbers. Results update as you type. No sign up, nothing to install, the math runs in your browser.

Start with home and garden
Our first category is the home mega hub: landscaping materials, concrete, interior finishing, exterior projects, sizing and project costs. It is being built one silo at a time, starting with the materials people buy most.
How it works
Each tool tells you exactly what to measure, in plain units, feet and inches, not surveyor shorthand.
The result appears as you type and updates live. No calculate button hunt, no page reload, no account.
The answer comes back in purchasable units with waste and settling already added, plus a cost estimate when you enter your local price.
How we keep the numbers honest
Formulas are printed on every page. Constants like roll sizes, bag volumes and material weights are listed in a table with their sources. If a number is an estimate that varies by supplier, the page says so and tells you what to confirm before ordering. A calculator that hides its math is asking for trust it has not earned.
ExaCalculator FAQs
Are the calculators really free?
Yes. No sign up, no paywall, nothing to install. The math runs in your browser, so the tools work on a phone standing in a store aisle just as well as on a laptop at home.
What does a shopping list result mean?
Most calculators stop at a decimal, like 2.2 pallets or 55.6 bags. You cannot buy those. Our results round up into the units stores and suppliers actually sell, rolls, pallets, bags and whole or half yards, so the number on your screen is the number you order.
How accurate are the results?
They are planning estimates built on printed formulas and named constants. Every tool page lists its constants in a table with their sources, and flags the numbers that vary by supplier, like pallet coverage or material weight, so you know exactly what to confirm before ordering.
Which calculators are available?
The home and garden category is live first, starting with landscaping materials: a sod calculator and a dirt calculator today, with stairs, fence, sand, topsoil and more already researched and shipping one at a time. New categories come after the home hub is complete.
